This course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge, practical understanding and confidence required to effectively prevent, assess and manage pressure ulcers.

Aims

Attendees will develop their knowledge and skills in the Prevention and Management of Pressure Ulcers including:

• Recognising risk factors and prevention strategies
• Classification of Pressure Ulcers
• Reporting requirements and documentation

• Equipment selection and use
• Practical group work and discussion

Attendees will complete a pre and post-test quiz to demonstrate evidence of learning. Nurses are required to work through Livewell Southwest Pressure Ulcer Competencies to be deemed competent.
