Aims

This one day interactive course will explore the reasons why some people with a Learning Disability engage in sexually harmful or inappropriate behaviour.

The course will provide theories and how to apply them to enhance practice. The course will also look at our own values, attitudes and prejudices and explore how they impact on the support we provide.

Objectives

This course includes:

  • Social Learning Theory
  • How to support this client group
  • Increase Understanding of Sexually Abusive Behaviour
  • An introduction to risk assessment, management & treatment
  • Ethical Dilemmas

Summary

This course looks at how to work with learning disabled clients who present a risk of sexually harmful behaviour.
