Assessing Suicide in Kids aged 5-14
This workshop is for professionals working with children and young people aged 5-14 years old. The ASK Workshop is completed across two days plus reading completed prior to the live workshop.

Course Content
The ASK Workshop is the only accredited suicide prevention workshop that specifically addresses suicide risk in children.
Participants learn:
- How to talk about death with children
- How to talk about suicide with children
- Developmentally appropriate strategies and tools to identify young children at risk of suicide
- How to quickly gather and organise details needed to assess risk
- How to explore and consider protective factors to inform safety planning
- To consider common challenges when working with parents and possible solutions
Course Structure
Participants learn using case studies, guided simulations, discussion and practice using an assessment tool.
Following the course
Participants will have an increased understanding and alertness to the fact that children can be at risk of suicide. They will know what risk factors to look out for and feel confident approaching the subject of death and suicide with a child. Participants receive a risk assessment tool, a quick reference tool and a certificate.
Course length: delivered virtually over two consecutive days (5 hours per day) plus 1-2 hours of self-paced pre-workshop reading

This course is usually priced at £200+VAT per person, however, as we are an NHS based company, and this is an extremely important course, we are able to offer it for only £125+VAT per person for a full 2 day course, as we have additional funding.
